It's no secret that Rivian are an Amazon backed company so it was only a matter of time before the two came together and now they have!

It's no secret that Rivian is a delivery van for Amazon. There’s a whole array of sizes and designs that Rivian have drawn up and the fleet is expected to be around 100,000 strong in no time. The first batch of these bespoke EVs is predicted to be ready for duty by the middle of next year. Following which, Rivian aims to deliver 10,000 vans to Amazon by 2022. The long term goal is to have 100,000 Rivian Amazon delivery vans on the road by the end of the decade.

Rivian will produced three different sized vans for Amazon, they will also have different battery capacities to be optimized for specific routes. Some of the delivery vans will be front wheel drive while others will be all wheel drive, presumably those doing the rounds in snowy or extremely wet areas.

And since this is Amazon we are talking about, all the vans will have Alexa as standard. There are a few neat features that have been specifically designed for these vans as well. The bumpers are meant to be easily replaced so that certain sections can be swapped out quickly when damaged. There’s also the magnets. The vans will feature wall-mounted magnets which can be used to keep boxes in place or upright by aligning them with magnets on the delivery boxes. That is a very cool feature and will hopefully ensure that you don't end up with smashed boxes at your door.
